Argument: Death Penalty

Evidence 1:

The more executions we have is for the better.  Each execution deters an average of 18 murders in the U.S.
  • Commentary 1:  This is good because it has such a large deterrent effect that it will cause way less murders to be taken place.
  • Commentary 2:  If people can start paying attention to this it will slow the amount of murders in the U.S way down.

Evidence 2:

According to an emory university professor, thay by speeding up executions would strengthen the deterrent effect.
  • Commentary 1:  The more lawful executions we have is for the better.
  • Commentary 2:  The stronger we get the deterrent effect, the less murders we will have.

Opposing Claims:

Many beleive that the death penalty does not deter the amount of murders in the united states.

My Rebuttal:

Nevertheless, I say that for every execution, it at least deters between 3 to 18 murders.

My Paragraph:

Keeping the death penalty is definately a must.  The death penalty will keep our world we live in a safer place.  The more executions we have will continue to strengthen the deterrent effect.  Hopefully we can get the deterrent effect so strong that we wont have to ever worry about the death penalty.  The death penalty is a hard subject to talk about because it can go both ways, you are still taking some persons life, but in some instances the death penalty can be for the better.  Talking about and commiting the death penalty is not very urbane, the death penalty will never be a polite and pleasent thing to think about.

My Thinking:
This paragraph is based mainly deductive thinking because there is enough evidence to make the conclusion certain.
